Somatic explores what it means to be "in the body." I wrote this piece to be, in a primal sense, profoundly sensual, borderline haunting, to embody the ritualistic and to manifest through music one of our most base desires. From the seductive invitation that opens the piece to the haunting counterpoint in its closing, Somatic is a dance that's meant to engage our bodies' natural inclination toward, not only movement and pleasure, but intuition and wisdom.
